Thought I’d bring your attention to an artist and animator who definately deserves to be noticed. His name is Graham Annable, creator of Grickle. His work is somewhat reminiscent of broadsheet cartoon strips, but they all have a message or point to make, even if it’s just something really silly.
They WILL make you laugh! These two are my favourites:
First, “We Sing the Forest Electric” (wish real forests were like this…)
And secondly, “Botched” (you’ll see why it’s ‘botched’ when you watch :p)
His artwork, animations and book can all be found here: http://www.grickle.com/ This guy is incredibly talented and also has a pretty dry wit. There’s something for everyone to appreciate in his animations.
Oh go on, have another
For a few minutes yesterday, we all got a little bit excited (or rather, got moderately distracted) for a few minutes by Spezify. It’s a brand-new visual search engine which goes through lots of different search engine results, picks out a few articles, pictures, videos, Facebook accounts, Twitter updates, etc., and then scrambles it up on the screen. The result is then surprisingly appealing. Take a look at this particularly topical search for Michael Jackson:

Try it out and play around with the settings. Apparently you can turn off the ’safe search’ too. Errr…
You know the first thing you’ll really be doing is searching your own name. Maybe that’s just us though.

It had to be done.
A twist on the drive-through rap, these two sing a folk song at a drive through.
But will they actually pay for their meal?
This video won 2nd place at the Fjorg 2008 32 hour CGI competition at Siggraph last October – but I only just saw it, so I thought I’d post it for you all to enjoy…
Awesome! maybe a little long and geeky for some. I thought if was fantastic to see Earth from space in such quality.
Just created a new aMap discussion: “To have mayonnaise or not to have mayonnaise”
I hate the stuff. Dunno about you guys? What do you think? Add your thoughts to it or why not go create an aMap of your own
?
